Florida DrupalCamp is this weekend and we wanted to remind you of a few things before we start. We highly encourage you to bring a laptop so you can follow along with talks. Don't have Drupal installed on your Laptop? Not a problem, we'll have people assisting with installs for Windows and Mac from 8:00am to 9:00am. You are going to be surrounded by a few hundred Drupal professionals and enthusiasts who are looking to make all kinds of connections so don't forget your business cards.
We're pleased to announced that Junior Achievement of Orlando has been selected as the recipient organization for Coding for a Cause during Florida DrupalCamp on Sunday, February 21, 2010.
If you're attending Florida DrupalCamp and would like to participate in Coding for a Cause, please fill out this quick questionnaire.
Just as a gentle reminder - while Florida DrupalCamp 2010 will provide a full day of sessions on a variety of topics, food for attendees, opportunities to network with your peers and even a commemorative t-shirt, it will be up to each attendee to bring their own laptop, no computers will be provided.
Florida DrupalCamp 2010 has sold out - 150 people have reserved their spot for Florida's largest Drupal event ever!
If you neglected to reserve your spot, you can still get on our waiting list - we'll let you know as spots become available.
With the camp less than 2 weeks away, now is a great time to start getting you ready to maximize your experience at the camp. We suggest several things:
1. Download and install Acquia's Stack Installer (DAMP) - this is an all-in-one download of everything you need to get a Drupal site up-and-running on your machine.
2. Create a free trail account with WebEnabled.com - many of our presenters will make the sites they build during their sessions available for you to clone and modify using this great service.
3. Bring plenty of business cards - regardless of if you're looking to learn, hire, or get hired, Florida DrupalCamp will be a great place to meet the who's who of the Florida Drupal community.
One of Florida DrupalCamp 2010's sponsors, O'Reilly.com is offering Florida DrupalCampers 45% off eBooks and 35% off print books by using the code "DSUG" during checkout.
O'Reilly is the publisher of the most excellent Using Drupal book - this is a great opportunity to get it at a discounted price!
The Florida DrupalCamp 2010 organizers are happy to announce that due to out outstanding sponsors, we're going to be providing camp attendees a great deal for their $6.11 admission fee.
In order to get (and keep) everyone's brain at top speed, we'll be providing food, drinks, and snacks throughout both days of the camp, including a hot lunch on Saturday from Tijuana Flats and a boxed lunch on Sunday from Jason's Deli.
